Irresistible Paneer Masala: A Flavour Explosion of Creamy Goodness

Curry Type: MILD 
Paneer Masala is a creamy and flavourful North Indian curry featuring paneer (Indian cottage cheese) in a rich, tomato-based gravy. Using Nosh Spice’s pre-made Paneer Masala Spice Mix makes this dish quicker and more convenient to prepare. 

Ingredients 

  • 250g paneer, cubed 
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped 
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree (1 fresh tomato if using fresh) 
  • 1 tbsp Nosh Spice Paneer Masala Mix 
  • 1 tsp ginger paste 
  • 1 tsp garlic paste 
  • ½ cup heavy cream 
  • 2 tbsp ghee or vegetable oil 
  • Salt, to taste 
  • Chopped cilantro, for garnish 
We highly recommend adding 1 teaspoon Nosh spice Garam Masala for that extra zing.

    Cooking Method 

    Step 1: Sauté the Base 

    1. Heat the ghee or vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. 
    2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown. 
    3. Stir in the ginger paste and garlic paste. Cook for another minute until the raw smell disappears. 

    Step 2: Prepare the Masala 

    1. Add the Nosh Spice Paneer Masala Mix to the pan and sauté for a minute to release the flavours. 
    2. Pour in the tomato puree and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oil separates from the masala. 

    Step 3: Finish the Gravy 

    1. Lower the heat and add the heavy cream to the masala. Stir to combine. 
    2. Add salt to taste and let the gravy simmer for a few minutes. 

    Step 4: Add Paneer 

    1. Gently add the cubed paneer to the gravy, being careful not to break the cubes. 
    2. Let the paneer cook in the gravy for about 5 minutes, ensuring it is heated through and coated with the masala. 

    Step 5: Garnish and Serve 

    1. Garnish the Paneer Masala with chopped cilantro. 
    2. Serve hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice. 
    3. Enjoy your creamy and flavourful Paneer Masala!
