Ingredients
For the Marinade:
- 1 pound (450g) boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Nosh Spice Butter Chicken Mix
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt to taste
For the Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter or ghee
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons tomato puree (or 2 tomatoes, blended if using fresh)
- 1 teaspoon honey or sugar
- 1 tablespoon Nosh Spice Butter Chicken Mix
Cooking Method
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
- In a large bowl, mix the plain yogurt, Nosh Spice Butter Chicken Mix, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, and salt.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for better flavours.
Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer
- Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (180°C).
Step 3: Air Fry the Chicken
- Place the marinated chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Cook until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
Step 4: Prepare the Sauce
- While the chicken is cooking, heat the butter or ghee in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the ginger paste and garlic paste, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the tomato puree and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Mix in the honey or sugar and Nosh Spice Butter Chicken Mix.
- Simmer the sauce for an additional 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Step 5: Combine Chicken and Sauce
- Once the chicken is done, add it to the sauce and stir to coat the chicken pieces evenly.
- Let it simmer for a few more minutes to allow the flavours to meld together.
Step 6: Serve
- Serve the Butter Chicken hot with rice, naan, or your preferred side.
